Children attending the Christmas party at the Christian Centre in Javea received a surprise early visit from Santa. After an afternoon of games such as twister, musical chairs and pin the star on the Christmas tree, the children sat down to tea and a fabulous Christmas cake, made in the shape of a seasonal tree by Ann Martin at My Little Cake Shop in Benitachell.
The children were at the door to greet Santa and after distributing presents, he was whisked away to continue supervising his elves who were making all the presents ready for Christmas Eve.
We had an evening of fun and entertainment at El Cid in Benidoleig featuring Wayne Horne, Terry Rowley and Al Sa int plus Bunty & The Beanos. We also had some great raffle prizes, including a Kindle that was donated by Continental Wealth Management and won by Rhiannon.
On Sunday 22nd May, we organised a beach picnic on the Playa Arenal in Jávea. A great time was had by the 18 adults and children who came along, the sun was shining and there was plenty to smile about with mums meeting other single mums, children making new friends and all with food and drink in abundance.
What a FANTASTIC day this was! Pinosol Park, Jávea was the ideal venue for dogs and stallholders alike. The weather was glorious and the event worked seamlessly. Last minute dog registrations brought the total to 54 entrants, with a wide variety of breeds including a handsome dalmation, cute westie, several Shih Tzus, an Australian shepherd and popular podencos.
Congratulations to all the exhibitors, winners and participants alike. Thirteen year old, cocker spaniel, Ruby-Blue, owned by young Teddy Stogsdill came first in the Veteran class and second in the Child Obedience. Toy poodles, Bliss and Hope, were a treat to watch performing in 5 different categories. Best puppy award went to a cute 8 month old Chihuahua called Mouse owned by Danielle White. Best of Show was Bully the American Bull dog and Best Reserve was Anuska, a cute Shih Tzu.
Schillings Photography did a great job capturing the beloved pooches on camera. Clowns, Alison (with ‘puppy’ Benji) and Theresa were busy entertaining the children throughout the afternoon. The stall holders were varied, with choices on offer from face painting to picnic ware. A special mention is due for the cheerful volunteers who helped Guardian Angels by manning the tombola, bake and book stands. The stewards also did a sterling job. Thanks to everyone involved on the day.
Tricia and Tamsin of Guardian Angels wish to give a very grateful thank-you to Alexis James-Crabb for judging the event, David, her husband, for being chief steward and Continental Wealth Management for giving sponsorship.
